Speakers labeled via automated voice-based diarization + AI name-matching against the city's official roster. Automated transcription can still mis-hear a name during fast speech (e.g. a rapid roll-call vote) -- clear near-misses are auto-corrected, but this is not manually verified line-by-line. Treat names as a strong best guess, not an official record. Home addresses that residents give are left out of this page.
[0:01] Chair: everybody ready we'll call this meeting of the town of booth paid order first on the agenda okay [Dan: First] thing on the agenda is a public hearing booth bay playhouse events llc Applicant Sarah and John Berkley, Map R05-010-A, located at 275 Wiscasset Road, Booth Bay, Maine, for a renewal of a self-sponsored event Wicca license, qualified caters only. [0:55] Select Board Member: So all taxes are paid, no notice of violation. I'm not sure what year this is, but they've done a tremendous job, and they've really run a nice event. Yes, they have. So, and it's just a story printable. Motion to approve. Second. [1:13] Chair: Motion's been approved and seconded. Okay. Any comments or questions? All in favor? Motion passes 3-0. Second thing on the agenda is the adoption of the new MMA General Assistance Ordinance in appendices A-D and H for the period of October 1st, 2026 to September 30th, 2027 in compliance with MRSA 43054. [1:48] Select Board Member: So this comes up every year, and generally it's just they're changing some of their ratios. In this one, it's hardly any times. And it's one of those things that you vote on, but you kind of have to do it. [2:05] Chair: They have no control over it. No. Right. Motion approved. Second. Motion's been approved and seconded. Any comments or questions? Seeing none, all those in favor? Motion passes 3-0. Next on the agenda, public comment. [2:27] Select Board Member: Nobody? Well, it depends what Dan says in his report. [2:30] Dan: Work there's no minutes to approve. Reports, Dan. So absentee ballots have been flying in here. I don't [2:45] Select Board Member: have an account, but it's kept the girls all busy in the business office outside of just day-to-day, so we are, we're definitely seeing more than normal, which is good, that means we're going to get better numbers. Yeah, Country Club Road, it's going to be, it's going to start within the next couple of weeks. I think I want to say in the next [3:06] Dan: meeting, but I don't want to say it and commit myself on all the country. What is it they're [3:11] Chair: doing at the end there, that just staying that way, is never finished? Oh, that's just, that's just where [3:17] Select Board Member: we, you know what, in the winter time when you get that ice wash down there, we tried, we, what the public works did is they went and they actually changed the drainage, so they cut that arm in, and you know it got filled with gravel that every one of these storms will deteriorate and it crosses the road to go over into the sewer, right, so it's just, it's, it's an improvement we're [3:45] Dan: hoping won't cost us as much sand on the bottom of that hill, or it's dangerous. Yeah. Oh yeah, it's [3:52] Select Board Member: In the wintertime, if that we get just the right amount of sun and it freezes over, that's just, there's one sheet of ice. [3:59] Dan: So when Crooked comes down, they're going to do Country Club and Dan Briar Boulevard. Oh, yeah. [4:07] Select Board Member: Exactly. At least it's Dan Briar Boulevard. That'll be the second one. I'd like to think of a different name. [4:13] Dan: All right, we'll call it Me and Me Boulevard. Briar Zola. [4:17] Select Board Member: There we go. We'll take it either way. But yeah, that's the plan is they'll start here, and then they'll travel down. Yay! Hold your breath. Hold your breath, that should take. Last, I just wanted to, it's now fit for public that we have been negotiating with the Blue Bay Land Trust to negotiate terms for a dog park, and specifically we will be looking at Cross River Preserve. The thought process is to not cut all the trees down, but to pen it in, but that way they'll have some shade. And then we'll talk about, you know, there's legalities that we have to go through. But then we'll talk about getting seasonal water in there so that we can have a trough so that more spigot, you know, something for the dogs. But it's pretty exciting. It came together pretty fast. A lot of this, you know, we had to wait for them to go through all their proper channels. And they now feel comfortable with this. But I think it's pretty exciting that we identified we want to do this and you're able to make it happen that quickly. That's great. Good for you. I say that, but we still have to get all these. Right. Yes. So I don't have anything else. Do you have any questions for me? I don't. Nope. [5:47] Chair: All right, okay, see you Paul. [5:53] Dan: I don't like being there. Do you have any questions for Dan, Steve?
Unfinished Business
[5:56] Chair: Okay, next on the agenda, old business, and we don't have any new business, and this Dan, I believe, is the interlocal agreement for the ambulance service, and we're going to table this until the next meeting, correct? Yes, we have a full board. Yeah, we have a full board, so that item is stable. Next, public comment. He answered our question. I figured he did. Okay, I'll entertain a motion to review the warrants and sign upon review. [6:33] Dan: You. So moved. Second. [6:36] Chair: I'll motion to adjourn. Oh, we got a vote. All in favor. Perfect. I'm going to state a motion to adjourn. Second. [6:48] Dan: You'll learn how to support me after that. I'm giving that to you. You've got a lot of time. [6:54] Chair: Much better. Last night was kind of like throwing it. [6:59] Dan: You did great. Nice job. [7:06] Chair: I got enough headaches, Bruce. I won't do it.
