Speakers labeled via automated voice-based diarization + AI name-matching against the city's official roster. Automated transcription can still mis-hear a name during fast speech (e.g. a rapid roll-call vote) -- clear near-misses are auto-corrected, but this is not manually verified line-by-line. Treat names as a strong best guess, not an official record. Home addresses that residents give are left out of this page.
[0:00] Speaker A (unidentified): Okay. But I mean, so they can mute everybody. They go to participants, right? They can mute or invite a man, right? If, that's an option, right? But like they can mute, I think, you know, they can probably click on that and I'll log them. No participants on TV. Oh, wait. What is the room confused? What do you mean by that? It's the zoom. Yeah, I mean, it's called the Zoom Room specifically to try to allow this to happen, right? Like where you're in the same room having a meeting for all intents and purposes. So what's that? Yep. So now, I don't know how we want to see it. That's like the issue, right? So that is what people will see at home with us small. All so I think like the confusing part is there's only like one person logged into zoom and right so instead of doing you know I would it would look a lot different right but I you know I haven't seen it when it's done you know again I'm the only one in here so it makes it like it's not going to change because I'm the only one talking yeah so that's the confusing part I think so that's how you'd rather see it and then I mean it's supposed to like isn't it supposed to show like a box what if you Go sit over there hello [4:39] Speaker B (unidentified): Hello right in the right spot [4:43] Speaker A (unidentified): What's that? No, is it the right number? Bob? [4:53] Speaker C (unidentified): Yep. Test,, test,, test,, test. Hello,. And it shows that. [5:04] Speaker A (unidentified): Oh, it goes there. It goes there. It goes there. That's all right. [5:22] Speaker C (unidentified): Now it shows me. [5:29] Speaker A (unidentified): So the lower one goes up, the zoom stays big. [5:37] Speaker C (unidentified): Which in a way is okay I mean you know because it shows everybody and everything and last night I did notice how because at first I thought that camera there I thought wow is it not working because we'd only we've only had a couple people go up there and everything we had the one which was the guy that was really tall and it really didn't show him and everything he had to pick up them the mic but then last night we had somebody that was quite a bit shorter than he was and it actually picked him Up good and in the camera went to him [6:26] Speaker A (unidentified): Mm-hmm yeah I mean if somebody's tall you gotta raise the podium that's as [6:30] Speaker C (unidentified): As tall as the podium goes. I mean, this guy was, he was hitting towards seven foot. You know what I'm saying? He was tall. So he picked up the mic like this and did this. [7:18] Speaker A (unidentified): I didn't see, to understand this a little bit. [7:24] Speaker C (unidentified): I went on, I looked at, what is that, Crest? Crestron? Yeah, to see if I could find a video or something to try to figure out a little more about it. But and then I sit there and I'm looking, I'm like, well, you know, we kind of, we have our own situation and everybody else has their own situation. Oh. [8:23] Speaker A (unidentified): Is he on his way? No, he's gonna be remote. Okay, they definitely don't need to have other, remove a participant right from here, the tools, the view. [8:53] Speaker C (unidentified): So whenever you invite, you invite a man. Is that a correct statement? [8:58] Speaker A (unidentified): Well, I mean, you don't have any invite ever, right? You just, you've already posted the... [9:05] Speaker C (unidentified): The invite. Yeah. Okay, so no. So it wouldn't be that then. Okay. Unless not we had somebody zoom in and [9:15] Speaker A (unidentified): they were able to zoom in, right? So that doesn't change, but now everything's the same. He was saying that is with this, why does sometimes it change to you when you were talking like that view, right? Fine, I don't like, but why was it not the other time? I don't know. [9:46] Speaker C (unidentified): That's how it- Now it's like it has to warm up a minute or two cause there I am and I didn't hardly say anything. Yeah. And- [10:04] Speaker A (unidentified): So I talk in like to my Zoom [10:11] Speaker B (unidentified): that you're gonna get feedback. Yeah. Which is fine. And so then what? [10:27] Speaker A (unidentified): Doesn't show me speaking there. Well, it doesn't show you speaking. Well, I'm just looking at like what the actual Zoom is. I always thought it like pulsed around the person, so it looks like, I mean, what is the microphone do [10:46] Speaker C (unidentified): you see how it's red right there with them? That's, well, I'm muted. That's me. That's you. That's you. [10:51] Speaker A (unidentified): Okay, in theory this is somebody from home, but I just unmuted it. Yeah, because you wanted to see what, so if I unmuted, like I always thought like it showed you who was speaking. Do you have your camera on? I mean, I didn't need to turn, I thought like it boxed up like it's functioning now the way I would have thought. So how do I, what do I have? I have the cell view on and multi-speaker. That's how I guess, that's how I would want it to be. Is that like, this makes the most sense to me in theory, like so the Zoom people at home are seeing what's on that screen, but again, like, I would have thought it would have zoomed in on me by now. For some reason, it just doesn't want to do that. It does. That's my only confusion. Why is that showing a different image? Well, it's showing the people at home. You now, it is, and now it's showing me. Right, but if I'm on Zoom, why did it, why is it doing, I just have to figure out why there's a delay. It might be something to do with this programming, if we, if you meet me, yeah, that 's what I'm expecting the other ones that actually [12:39] Speaker B (unidentified): look like, right, well, the second next [12:57] Speaker A (unidentified): question is, do they know enough that when there's not really only one person on Zoom, right, so we only have one person on Zoom, we don't really need to show Zoom to the public, right, so wouldn't you rather that be the big screen for most of the meeting, and so I guess this is what I would say, if you come over [Speaker B (unidentified): here, I] mean, so the normal standard practice, right, is they come over here and they start the meeting and it should take them to this view. I'm kind of hoping that multi and the highs, this is the settings it'll retain, because I think that makes the most sense for how we're running. I'd like to see it focus on me. It does there. I can talk to him about that. So then, if they get in the habit of going back to this screen, unless they need to actively manage the Zoom meeting because there's, you know, there's lots of people on the Zoom meeting, then I think you just broadcast the Zoom meeting, right, and they just can leave it here and you're on the Zoom and that's what's broadcasting, but it's only like the meeting that I saw the other night, only one person on Zoom, they weren't even sharing their screen, right, so in that case I would broadcast the cameras so that it's big full screen as people talk, the only thing you won't be able to do is when the person from the Zoom speaks [15:00] Speaker B (unidentified): come on, yeah, you'll hear them, yeah, right, you could hear them when you'll hear like you'll [15:06] Speaker A (unidentified): hear them in like, so if I'm at home, right, you can hear me and the people at home will hear here, but they won't see. Well, that's kind of a broadcast on Zoom. That's what it's going to look like. Really? What type of meeting is tonight? [15:50] Speaker C (unidentified): It's Board of Appeals. Board of what? Board of Appeals. I don't know. They all tend to show up. So I'm going to say there may be a couple of people on Zoom, But I [16:10] Speaker A (unidentified): Mean again, I think that's what you need to tell them. Don't need to log in the same room. Just use these controls, get used to them. I mean, right, all your host tools are here so they can do everything they need to do. And if they need to, you know, suspend, put, you know, remove a participant. Yeah, and again if they want to individually usually, you know, mute. Like, so I wonder what's, let's see what happens here. I'll like raise my hand. I don't think, I don't think he can raise a hand. Like, isn't that like a, that's what one thing he, I heard him say, I said, what happens when someone raises their hand to ask a question? I was like, okay, I don't know actually, but you guys don't have that enabled. Who asked you that? It was just, I was on that first meeting, like I was on, or I was on the Zoom meeting like that one night, yeah, that was on conservation, yeah, that was [17:44] Speaker C (unidentified): probably Sir Peter Engelston or Paul Sean, I don't [17:55] Speaker A (unidentified): even see where you'd raise your hand. Do you guys allow chat? Do [18:01] Speaker B (unidentified): people chat? There it is, and [18:14] Speaker A (unidentified): you don't need to be on a laptop for that. I'm just wondering how the heck you don't allow anybody to do that. It was definitely a raising of the hand. [18:31] Speaker C (unidentified): Maybe that was a once upon a time kind of deal. [18:38] Speaker A (unidentified): I have seen it before from different meetings. [18:40] Speaker C (unidentified): Yeah, I have too. [18:44] Speaker A (unidentified): No, I don't. [18:48] Speaker B (unidentified): I don't even know. Or unmute. Right. [Speaker A (unidentified): Yeah, so,] I don't [19:33] Speaker A (unidentified): know if it's going to save this, but we would definitely, I mean, I don't like that view. I kind of like this multi-speaker one. [19:46] Speaker C (unidentified): Yeah, I like that too. [19:48] Speaker A (unidentified): And I don't know, you know, depending, you know, if you have a lot more people on there, it's going to look, probably going to look different. [19:53] Speaker C (unidentified): Yeah. I mean, if it does, it does. [19:57] Speaker A (unidentified): Yeah, and I think the person speaking always goes first. Like it always shows up at the top, but I think you want to like if you show the self-view that I think is confusing, right, so hide self-view to start. Once they come in here, you multi-speaker, I think it says show selfie, they want to hide self-view, or I don't know what that means if it's backwards, but yeah, it says hide self you on there. Yeah, I mean the only way I can know is to end this [20:39] Speaker B (unidentified): meeting and then they switch [20:53] Speaker A (unidentified): it back to cameras and then you hit system off, [Speaker B (unidentified): so] you have that restart this recording in progress and it didn't save it. No, I did. [21:53] Speaker C (unidentified): That makes me crazy. I'll be sitting there going, okay, where is it at? I [22:11] Speaker A (unidentified): Got kicked out of the meeting. So now that's what it looks like. And I would expect this will be it. Now I know. I can get this to repeat, right? So it's showing why the Zoom doesn't switch to that camera, like, the same time the town hall streams camera. It's kind of beyond me. Don't work that out. Right. But not the Zoom. The Zoom is just showing pig. I thought it would zoom in. I thought it would zoom in on me. But I guess not. Like, that's the confusing part. No it should I mean it does it has in the past just I need to well I mean in a way of [23:13] Speaker C (unidentified): This but yeah unless they're on the Zoom and that it'll it's showing you what's [23:28] Speaker A (unidentified): That oh yeah it shows me in that corner it'll show you and it shows you on the town streams so but now it goes to it I know that's what I don't like right no I understand that like it's like there's a huge [23:42] Speaker C (unidentified): Delay so it's like it's got a warm-up it's like okay now we're I know that's [23:47] Speaker A (unidentified): What it was not all right so it's not saving those settings I can work on that but I think if they hit multi speaker at least in the view mm-hmm I can figure out how to like save it and then that will be you know that will be good enough I mean I think that's better than what it was but and how often are people looking at these TV like they're always looking at that TV right well [24:25] Speaker C (unidentified): I've been trying to tell people not to do it you know what I'm saying every time I said don't look at it don't look at it 's fine you can glance over at it to make sure that you've got some sound on there and that 's up that means town hall stream is going I said but other than that you need to just do your meeting do your meeting like you usually do yeah you don't have to worry about they and they'll forget it after a bit yeah I mean it's all about getting used to it last night the budget Meeting I think was the best that we had and they were you know they just got down to business they talked we had a presentation that worked out fine in the end and you know to be honest with you the woman who will be doing this she's very she's had some bad experiences with the owls and the Zooms and everything and so I called her today and I said I was I stayed late last night just to make sure that she was okay but I told her I said how was it was everything good you know the only thing she Didn't do is turn off the system, which that was my fault, and I told her that. I said there's one thing you didn't turn off the system, and that was totally on me. But by the time that we started, her and I were still talking, they started meeting, and so we really couldn't do a lot of, do a lot of stuff. I said that's okay, you know, just remember to do that tonight. So he's [26:03] Speaker A (unidentified): doing this distribution like, I mean, a presentation like I'm watching last night's meeting and who did that present? Oh, that was from his laptop. Mm-hmm, he logged on to the media. That's exactly what I would want to look right, and [26:23] Speaker C (unidentified): that's what I told him. I said just throw on the meeting and share your screen, so it went [Speaker A (unidentified): perfectly.] Then we had a guy go on Zoom, Jim Ladder, that couldn't make it to the meeting but came on Zoom, and he got on but he had to get back off because he had some kind of issue with his sound and it was on his end. And I just wanted to make sure, I watched the meeting today, to make sure that it wasn't something that we had to do here. [27:13] Speaker A (unidentified): What was wrong with this thing? [27:17] Speaker C (unidentified): Whenever he tried to join the meeting, you could see him, but he couldn't, nobody could hear him. And so, he jumped off the meeting, got back on the meeting, and he did something, and it was fine. So, I don't know if he just had a bad connection, or what he did. [27:47] Speaker A (unidentified): That was definitely something on his end, probably. He [27:58] Speaker C (unidentified): was able to jump on, you could see his face and everything like that, you know, when they were talking about stuff. But it was after the PowerPoint, you know, that night that you zoomed in and everything, and you were talking to everybody, you were talking to Peter and Paul. I saw that, and I'm like, oh, thank God. Then Paul's over there on the, on the laptop doing stuff, and I was just like, oh my God, and I that next day I took it out. I said we don't need that laptop in here, we don't need [29:01] Speaker A (unidentified): that laptop in here. Well, I wasn't sure, yeah, and again I don't actually see where, and then it ended [29:08] Speaker C (unidentified): up being the old screen of the town hall strings with the black screen and the emblem. I don't know of what he did, and I was just like, God, so it looks better. Yeah, it looks better last night [29:23] Speaker A (unidentified): when you have participation from the Zoom people [Speaker B (unidentified): it's] just I gotta figure that out [29:35] Speaker C (unidentified): All right, I mean there's only, you know, it's just, it'll just get better and better, people get more
