[0:00] Speaker A (unidentified): I've printed some, so if he wants, then he can have one. There's still a few more. Because I think that, okay. Yeah, I think I should have it. [0:07] Speaker B (unidentified): The other jet's not coming. Oh, he might later at 7. Okay. [0:12] Speaker A (unidentified): Well, if he needs it, I'll have it. [0:15] Bruce Colson: Okay, so we call the annual meeting to order. Jeff, can you take notes? I can. I don't trust that camera. Okay. If something goes wrong, we don't know where to get minutes. And there's no guest out there. Check this, find it. I have it. You have it. [1:04] Speaker B (unidentified): Are they in the pack-up? They must be in the pack-up. I have them. Carry-ons are first aid. Why [1:55] Bruce Colson: don't you read them off to us, Jim? You know me all too well, don't you? [2:10] Speaker B (unidentified): OHSTT Solid Waste Board of Directors approved minutes for Thursday, September 25, 2025. President Bruce Colson, Gordon Carnell, Zell Bowman-Lavage, John Young, Baden-Neal, Babson, Jeff Northgrades, and Jeff Smith. No guests. 6.04 p.m. Meeting called to order. Zell Bowman, LaVerge. Motion to adjourn. John Young seconded. All in favor? 607 PM, meeting adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Heather A. Steeves, Recording Secretary. [3:35] Bruce Colson: Okay. Any comments or questions on the minutes? Not here. There is none. I'll call for a vote. Just enough. Yes. Cindy. Yes. Alan. [3:51] Speaker D (unidentified): Yes, can I? That's applied for the minutes where I was present, I guess, and not to, I guess, can you vote on minutes that you weren't present? I'm not sure that you can. [4:01] Bruce Colson: Not sure you can either. [4:02] Speaker D (unidentified): But if we take it as a red. That's a red. A red word. [4:15] Bruce Colson: That's the way it was back in 2029. Okay, moving [4:32] Speaker E (unidentified): on to
New Business
[4:38] Bruce Colson: new business, which is selection of offices. There's a list of the current offices as they are. I will accept mentions, I guess, of all [4:56] Speaker F (unidentified): present officers to serve another one-year term. May [5:03] Bruce Colson: I have a second? I'll second that. Okay, do we have any other nominations? Going once, going twice, going again. So the motion has been made and seconded to keep the current offices as is for another year. Jeff Smith? Yes. Cindy? No. Yes. Good. Four yes, one no. Any other business you would like to bring before the board? I've [5:45] Speaker D (unidentified): had some contact from a select board member in Thomaston and from some private individuals concerned about various aspects of our financial well-being. [6:04] Bruce Colson: So I think that would be under the monthly meeting. [6:07] Speaker D (unidentified): Right. Oh, yeah. Okay. I'm sorry. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, which I, yeah, which I would like to speak with Heather when, she becomes available and not before any other conversation. [6:21] Bruce Colson: Either that or Jeff Northgreeves because he actually is the treasurer. Okay. So, okay. And he's pretty good. Okay. Okay. I mean, if you really want some quicker answers, I think Jeff is a good player. So, if nothing else for the Annual Meeting, I accept the motion to adjourn that meeting. Do I have a second? I'll second. Jeff? Yes. Cindy? Yes. Alan? Yes. Gordon? Yes. Chair goes along with it as well. And we are adjourned. Now moving on to the, what's the meeting? I don't want to get into the nuts and bolts. [7:15] Speaker D (unidentified): Yeah, sorry about that. No problem. [7:24] Bruce Colson: Okay. Again, no gaps, no public comment. Once again, we have minutes. On [7:48] Speaker A (unidentified): Thursday, August 27th. I can't believe it's been a month. Yeah, I know. It's going quick. [7:55] Bruce Colson: Has everybody had a chance to read these? Yeah. You did, Jeff? I would accept a motion on them. [8:07] Speaker D (unidentified): Motion to approve. Do I have a second? [8:10] Bruce Colson: I'll second that. Any discussion on the changes, omissions? No. No? Jeff Smith? Yes. Cindy? Yes. Alan? Yes. Gordon? Yes. Chair, you're going to go along with it as well. I have not had a chance to contact anybody from my town, but I think the only thing that's really holding us up for scheduling another work session is whether they've heard from their attorney. I believe Thomson has, right? Yes. I'm pretty sure that South Thomson has. Is that correct, Wooden? Yes, sir. Has South Thomson heard back from the attorney on... No. No? on stuff almost in the town has not heard back to this for input on the [9:05] Speaker B (unidentified): interlocal agreement well not that I'm aware of but I believe that there is still a pending issue on the agreement see [9:18] Bruce Colson: If we can get to our respective club, you to get it all under control, but the rest of us gonna get on, you know, guys, and get it moving, because it's been dragging out for a while. It's been at least about two months. Like she said, time's flying, so it could be more than that, but it's been a while. [9:40] Speaker A (unidentified): When you do a work session, all the towns come together and work on the local agreement? Is that typically how it goes? And is it difficult to get us all kind of on the same page calendar-wise? It hasn't been so far. Okay. [9:56] Bruce Colson: Thursday night seems to be the best night for everybody. Yeah. Because all the other nights are really because they're wearing multiple hats, so they're on one committee or another board, and they're meeting different nights, so Thursday night seems to be the best one. So, we'll see about getting one scheduled on Thursday. [10:13] Speaker A (unidentified): Do you typically set that up first? [10:15] Bruce Colson: It's only been done once, since I've been on the board. Yeah, it has been hours. Okay. [10:24] Speaker D (unidentified): So we're waiting on which attorney is? South Thompson? Owl's Head. [10:30] Bruce Colson: I may go ahead and set a date anyhow, because sometimes a deadline tends to push things through. I will check with my town for a week. I don't know how much you know, but Al says he's got one secretary, two of them quit. I imagine it's chaos down there right now. [10:56] Speaker F (unidentified): I guess they get offered other positions and I'm moving on. [11:01] Speaker A (unidentified): Well, good for them, but they need to lose good people. [11:07] Bruce Colson: But I will endeavor to get a hold of somebody down there and let them know that we're going to be setting a date here shortly, so they can speak it out. Is there anything else you want to discuss on that? Moving on to number 6, Eat Waste Collection Day. That was a big success. That was a busy, time. It technically did start till 9, but people were coming in the first thing, 8 o'clock. I don't know how many numbers we got on there. Jeff Northgraves was going to collate all that and put it together for a report. But we had three of those books going and we had two that were actually using 25 solo arts per page, right? We filled a number of those pages. [11:59] Speaker G (unidentified): And we ended up with 15 Gaylord full. [12:04] Bruce Colson: We had some pretty good sized flat screens though. [Speaker F (unidentified): Yeah, but] there was like two or three times that we hadn't backed up to the cowboy containers not long. But they didn't line up that long, and when they weren't back up, it was just a steady stream right through. And [12:26] Speaker D (unidentified): some of it made its way into the swap shop. [12:28] Bruce Colson: Some of it did make its way into the swap shop. There was a few good TVs that were in good shape, and then there was some laptop carriers. Just like Brad knew when we got those out and went over there, somebody wants to carry it to their laptop. So a few things made it to there. I'd like to thank our crew over there on the facility because they did a remarkable job. Three of which at least were with us, working with us over on the E-Way side, and the rest of them were over there running the facility. If you've ever been in there on a Saturday, it's busy, it's a nightmare to divide the forces in half is, they did well, and I want to thank Jeff for coming over and working on it. [13:18] Speaker G (unidentified): Felt like we had a really good system going. [13:20] Bruce Colson: We did, yeah, it was pretty smooth. [13:23] Speaker G (unidentified): I think the people that came in were pretty impressed with all the help they were getting. [13:28] Bruce Colson: We got some good comments. We did get a $10 donation, that's pretty cool. Yeah, but we had a lot of good comments on both the e-waste and the hazardous material collection day and the facility in general, the day-to-day operations over there. So it's a good chance to meet the people and get their output to see what they're thinking, you know, the facility and the system and how it works. [14:00] Speaker A (unidentified): We usually do it once a year for both hazard and e-waste? [14:04] Bruce Colson: Yep. The e-waste is usually in September, and the hazardous waste is usually the Saturday right after the 4th of July. And we budget that into our budget. We make the budget out so that we can take in at least two, some of these items for free, like TVs and stuff, and then the hazardous waste. You get two units, five pounds of solids, or five gallons of liquid. Those first two units are free. And then they have to pay for them, but that's built into a budget for that program. Anything else, Jeff, on e-waste? [14:54] Speaker A (unidentified): Advertising went good on it? What did we do, Facebook and flyers, right? [14:59] Speaker G (unidentified): I think we had 750 flyers. [15:02] Bruce Colson: We were also tracking where people were coming from, what town. And Jeff will have those numbers. Early on, it looked like it was pretty much even split all the way down through. All three downs will do the same, equally. That's good. [15:18] Speaker D (unidentified): Yeah? That's good. Should have been 47%. Right, Thomason! [15:25] Bruce Colson: Well, I tell you what, your library, in South Thomason's library, took full advantage of [15:29] Speaker A (unidentified): that. Yeah, they did. They cleaned out their media room. Yeah, they did. [15:35] Speaker F (unidentified): Oh, they did. We reached at least 50 caskets. Oh, yeah. At least. [15:40] Bruce Colson: Oh, more than that, because like I said, it's 25 lines, and we had at least four pages. [15:44] Speaker F (unidentified): Yes. Well, some of them were... [15:46] Bruce Colson: Well, the crackers were in the same time, same person. Big turn. Okay. Anything else on the e-waste? Okay, moving on to new business. Here we are in the fall, looking towards the ugly warm up months. Along with that comes snow. We should have probably put the snow removal back up a bit this year. Did [16:21] Speaker D (unidentified): we put it to bid last year or did we put it... [16:23] Speaker B (unidentified): we didn't know okay i think it caught up with us it was too late to put it out to bed the guys plows my driveway for me a really good job right and [16:51] Speaker E (unidentified): how do you how do we go about [16:54] Speaker D (unidentified): getting those picks do we post it somewhere how they usually post them usually it's in [17:01] Bruce Colson: the carrier for one through the local papers and stuff right and i believe she puts it on our [17:07] Speaker D (unidentified): I did it once for actually it was for mowing for the dog park and I used that Thomaston Midcoast message board and got a ton of people too many because I interviewed them all as well, but if the response is slow, get it on there. [17:36] Speaker A (unidentified): Is the snow removal contractual year by year? Is that how it's been? [17:42] Bruce Colson: No, we've been up to date about every three years or so. [17:46] Speaker A (unidentified): So it's the kind of time. So who's been doing it in the past? [17:50] Speaker B (unidentified): We're feeling it. Jimmy Kellick did it. Right. The last person that had an actual contract was Performance, correct? [17:58] Bruce Colson: Mm-hmm. And there was a mix-up there somewhere along the line. He had it one year, and we were looking for him to come back the second year, and all of a sudden, snow hit, and no plowing. [18:09] Speaker B (unidentified): That's how we ended up just... Right. I know what that is. [18:12] Speaker G (unidentified): There's something. Right. I know what that is. [18:15] Bruce Colson: As everybody is well aware, and made quite public, but I sanded it twice, and plowed it twice, and sanded it twice. That was not going to continue, that was my decision. So I covered until we could get somebody which is... Right, I forget the name. [18:32] Speaker B (unidentified): No, Dustin did it, and Dustin, Cote has been working with his father who recently passed and has taken over his lawn mowing and snow plowing. But father did not want to put a bid on it. I had asked him to in years previous. Dustin was more than willing to come, spur the moment and take it over. [19:03] Speaker D (unidentified): And what kind of area are we in with cost do you think? I mean last year for instance. [19:15] Bruce Colson: it went up a little bit because jimmy i think last did it to tell it did it like 55 57 i think [19:24] Speaker D (unidentified): It's all like that, yeah. And it's it's it's a big, it's it's a purchase of her snowfall bit, whatever that turns out. It's a seasonal bit, seasonal, yeah. One, oh, I say one plus the season. [19:35] Speaker B (unidentified): However much it smells, yeah. Oh, okay, extra sandings and stuff costs a little more, you know, yeah, stuff like that. Motor operations cost, yeah. Well, you have to get a loader and because it's a little easier now the facility is a little more open, plus we have a tractor ourselves. [19:53] Speaker D (unidentified): Is it just the one area, the one, yeah, facility, yeah, but with the price of fuel right now, I [20:00] Bruce Colson: I'm going to surmise it would be probably up in the end of July. Good point. [20:12] Speaker A (unidentified): What's a deadline for that, if we wanted to get those out today? [20:16] Bruce Colson: End of October. Because after that, you could get anything. So we're going into October now. By the time we get an ad out, give them two weeks to come in and look things over and put a bid. Close it. We'll meet. I would say probably our meeting in October, we would look those over. That puts you at the end of October. [20:38] Speaker F (unidentified): If it snows in October, we had the guys of the last year. [20:43] Speaker B (unidentified): We had horrific blizzards in October. [20:46] Bruce Colson: I see one just before Halloween. [20:48] Speaker G (unidentified): I remember. [20:50] Speaker F (unidentified): Tricking in snow, yeah. [20:53] Bruce Colson: That was years ago. [20:55] Speaker B (unidentified): It just wasn't too long ago though, we had that great big Halloween blizzard. [21:00] Bruce Colson: You said that was an odd dock, too, because usually your dividing line is like West Meadow Road, anything west of that, up in there, and we could get a little bit out of it. That storm, the dividing line was Broadway. And past the high school, we got tons of snow, but you get down to the five corners, there were nothing but dust. And it was clear on the east side of Broadway, way on the west side. You get into South Thomas, there's a mountain of gateways. There's nothing to get the jager on the side of the building to pile it up. It's just weird. Well, what's going on? It's just weird how it provided itself out. So do we have anybody that wants to put out an ad for us? [21:50] Speaker D (unidentified): Oh, good. Does that make you feel like talking about that? [21:56] Speaker B (unidentified): We should set a date for the bench to be in, right? Correct. Is there a previous one I can look at just to have the terms? I asked her actually for that a little while ago, but she's not in a position to find it right now. All right, but I was looking for what was budgeted. When's [22:34] Speaker H (unidentified): our October meeting, October, it looks to be the 22nd and [22:40] Speaker D (unidentified): the season. The reason that we're bidding, that we're having a bid for, is from November 1st through April [22:51] Bruce Colson: at least, probably the end of April, yeah, May 1st. May 1st. [22:56] Speaker B (unidentified): What, 27th? November 1st, May 1st. [23:00] Speaker A (unidentified): Gosh, that sounds like long winter. [23:04] Speaker B (unidentified): Why do I live here? It's already overcast and the sun angle's getting low. I [23:14] Bruce Colson: would say they should be in those 16th, 18th, the latest, the 19th, the 18th of Sunday. [23:23] Speaker A (unidentified): That sounds appropriate. October 16th? [Speaker D (unidentified): October 16th, yeah.] Or at the latest, 19th. [23:38] Speaker D (unidentified): We'll say 16th. Yeah. [23:46] Bruce Colson: Now, where do we want those delivered? [23:50] Speaker B (unidentified): To the mailbox probably or electronically to Heather yeah [24:04] Bruce Colson: because getting up and off the facility they don't open up Fridays so all right we [24:10] Speaker B (unidentified): have a p.o box we did we do yeah it's [24:20] Bruce Colson: right here in Thomaston too so that makes it convenient for you [24:28] Speaker D (unidentified): and do we do people tend to ask to see [24:36] Bruce Colson: the what they're supposed to be found yeah they do but and if they know what they're doing they should yeah right so I mean I wouldn't take on a bit without looking at their [24:49] Speaker E (unidentified): first I mean I'm just wondering whether I should be giving a phone number or [24:52] Bruce Colson: something set up appointments yeah the best person to check with would be David because he is his crew that's going to do the shoveling after the fact he knows where things are where that place is pushing what methods have been used in which ones work the best so do what I would say at any time the dump is open I'll [25:27] Speaker A (unidentified): call you on Sunday morning 8 o'clock [25:31] Speaker H (unidentified): grand tour of Tom's no problem no problem I [25:40] Speaker B (unidentified): thought I had a copy of the budget in the other that [25:47] Bruce Colson: thumb drive you got may have the last contract with Jimmy Kelly because it does have contracts in that thumb drive but that was through three years ago so she's updated it since then so I don't know that got deleted out there okay but it should it may possibly be on that okay there was [26:11] Speaker B (unidentified): also a phone at the facility that's date number on the 25 26 budget we allowed for $10,000 and [27:15] Bruce Colson: I'm sure we didn't cut it in a minute in last city my mother [27:19] Speaker D (unidentified): acreage of that facility what was that did anyone know the acreage of that site i mean we're just looking at the deep it's not much more than acreage i was going to guess and we refer to it [27:32] Speaker B (unidentified): as the dexter street site what do we what do we call it just it's the buttermilk creek stone used to be buttermilk lane until they messed with it that's right [27:47] Speaker G (unidentified): now it's a buttermilk drive buttermilk drive [27:50] Speaker B (unidentified): thank god yeah buttermilk drive [27:55] Speaker G (unidentified): yeah [28:12] Speaker D (unidentified): so we carried that right over that's what's in the line we probably should be keeping that to ourselves in case there's a this right it's a plan well yeah you might be right [28:38] Bruce Colson: So, other than the hours that needs to be done, it got me over to about 7,.30. [28:51] Speaker G (unidentified): Yeah, John's there at 7. Yeah, [28:55] Speaker B (unidentified): So that's another thing, we have to be at the head of the line. Yeah. And that's, Dustin was really good at that. Yeah. Wasn't he? He was. Yeah. Somebody called him in full on that he's going to have to put a bid in this year. I don't think he has an idea how to do that, he just doesn't care. [29:19] Speaker D (unidentified): Should we say it opens at 6.30? [29:24] Speaker B (unidentified): No, 7 is fine. We actually open at 8. [29:28] Speaker D (unidentified): Oh, okay, so it opens at 8, ploughed by... [29:36] Speaker G (unidentified): I think we gave him the key. We did. [29:50] Speaker D (unidentified): In the event is coming down really heavy the facility closes right yeah in which case [29:57] Speaker H (unidentified): you can just go in is that if the school district closes that the transfer station [30:05] Speaker A (unidentified): Is that usually how it works? [30:08] Speaker G (unidentified): I don't know. That's what we normally do. Right. Yeah. The town office closes. [30:11] Bruce Colson: Right. The town office. Yeah. Over in the school district where we close most of the time. Right. [30:15] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah. I know that. They're a lot more cautious. Right. When the town office closes, we're closed. Okay. [30:30] Bruce Colson: Anything else on Snowy Road? [30:32] Speaker D (unidentified): So we've just run over the sites that we were using before, so we can put this in [30:38] Speaker E (unidentified): the paper. [30:40] Speaker B (unidentified): I think we need to put it in the paper. It might even be a requirement. Right. [30:46] Speaker E (unidentified): We'll put it on Facebook and [30:55] Speaker D (unidentified): on town websites. [30:58] Bruce Colson: And Midcross Message Board if you'd like. Yeah. [31:05] Speaker B (unidentified): Applicants need to be capable of doing that. We just don't want some guy with a pickup truck. Right. [31:14] Bruce Colson: Well, I'll tell them all proof of insurance [31:19] Speaker D (unidentified): I mean, yeah, you want somebody with a spare plow, but at least one that's... [31:28] Speaker B (unidentified): Right. Then you've got backup equipment and a backup driver, you know, they need to be perfectly capable of taking care of this. Note that I'm not at all full of the small guy. I am, but you know. Anything [31:57] Speaker D (unidentified): else you need? I should take care of that. Come [32:04] Bruce Colson: up with anything else? Just email one of us and I'll get back to you. Is that the end of the discussion on the slumber ball? I think so. So the secretary has mentioned that it's probably time to create a permanent office space over at the facility. It's probably not a bad idea. Any thoughts on that? But first I need a motion to discuss this. [32:37] Speaker D (unidentified): A motion to discuss it you need a motion to discuss [Speaker B (unidentified): what the office] the creation of an office space for a secretary of the senate [32:50] Speaker A (unidentified): I will second that [32:54] Bruce Colson: Ok now we can discuss it alright [32:56] Speaker D (unidentified): Do you have any ideas on the existence of an existing [33:01] Bruce Colson: I will say the one that Dave is using right now [33:11] Speaker G (unidentified): I don't have an issue with the secretary taking that office, I'm not in there a lot, I'm outside working so if it would be more valuable for the secretary that's fine with me. [33:29] Speaker D (unidentified): Is there room for two people in there if they have to be? [33:31] Speaker B (unidentified): No, she needs to have room for fire resistant filing cabinets and stuff because she wants to store, she's required to keep records for six years or something, she wants to get them out of her house, so she needs to have cabinets in there for that, she needs to have a little bit of room. And that building is quite small and frankly I wonder if it's large enough. And you might want to consider, I don't know if this is the place to say that, but you might want to consider that when we have a new administrative manager, they might want to location where the facility. I'm not sure that works either. We were talking about the other building closer to the middle gate that might offer a better view, or that position maybe. [34:40] Bruce Colson: You mean where the bulbs and stuff are? [34:41] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah. That place. Not necessarily the building, but that position. Because there's no real good position to oversee the facility except for the middle gate, where that is. Yeah where the old building was so it's just something to think about you ask him and we make her a space in the middle there right now yes but you might want to be trying to look ahead what [35:14] Speaker H (unidentified): do you think Dave I'm hoping you're opening up whatever so where is your office right now is [35:26] Speaker B (unidentified): Is it up at the top? No, it's one of the three buildings. Oh, okay. By the road. By the fence. By the road. I got you. Yes. On the west side. Right. [35:36] Bruce Colson: That position does have a fair view. It doesn't catch all of it, but it does have a decent view. Yeah. That's where we did the e-waste Saturday. And when we're standing there, you can see. You certainly can see the scale. It's no problem. You can see up over the hill to the new building. Building. It's a little tough seeing it at the swap shop, but you can see it. And you can see down on the curb side, the facility as you first come in for the recyclables. [36:05] Speaker D (unidentified): And who's in the top office in the new shed there? [36:09] Speaker B (unidentified): That's where Deb hangs out, because that's the control room for the scale. Which is pretty small. [36:14] Speaker D (unidentified): Okay. It's small. This is not really an office. No. [36:19] Speaker B (unidentified): It's the control room for compactors and the scale. Right. A little machinery or on the bicycle. [36:26] Speaker A (unidentified): Plus there's a lot going on in that office. [36:28] Speaker B (unidentified): It needs to be locked. It needs to be able to lock it out. Feel secure about it. [36:36] Bruce Colson: The building does need, if we use that building, there's no interior that's got foam, it's got a foam ceiling on it, there's no walls, no ceiling other than foam ceiling. And if you look at the roof, the shingles are about ready to blow off that thing, so they need to be, it definitely needs to be re-shingled, not that 's a huge expense, I mean it's a very small building but it's something that needs to be done no matter who occupies it [37:03] Speaker D (unidentified): So do we think we've likely got existing space we can use? [37:07] Speaker E (unidentified): That we can, yeah? [37:17] Bruce Colson: Well it's nothing that has to be decided tonight she put the request in for us to think about to get moving and put it on the agenda so we can look at it, work at it. [37:30] Speaker A (unidentified): Maybe we could go over there with her at some point, one of us and she could poke around and see what she thinks. [37:39] Speaker H (unidentified): If it would be [37:40] Speaker A (unidentified): appropriate for the storage. [37:42] Speaker G (unidentified): I can't see anything that's there now that would meet what she would need to have. [Speaker H (unidentified): The shelves,] bookcase file cabinets desk. [37:55] Speaker B (unidentified): A view right okay yeah anyway we're on we're on the path of thinking about it so. [38:17] Bruce Colson: I'm gonna table that one for further discussion because basically that's what you say for us to get the discussion going so number nine Do we have a motion on that one? [38:36] Speaker B (unidentified): Move to talk about forks. Can I have a second? [38:40] Bruce Colson: Okay, so the forks. We're not talking saddle forks here. We've been lots of talking about getting them a set of forks that go onto the tractor so they can move heavy objects. And again, I guess it got put on the back burner, but when we were there Saturday, the Gaylords were setting up pallets. And no forks, but it would be awful nice to move those, especially when you've got 15 of them. Slip the forks in and take them away. [39:06] Speaker F (unidentified): Who seconded that motion? Allen. [39:11] Bruce Colson: So, you know, they're not horribly expensive. They're like under a thousand bucks. I looked them up, tracked the supply, I think they were like 800, 700 bucks, something like that. They just slip over the bucket, in the pan of the bucket, and they clamp down. And if you want to adjust them, you loosen up the clamps, slide them in or out for adjustments. And that way they can come in, pick the pallets up. They can pick appliances up to that number with it, but a lot easier than they can the bucket. If you're trying to pick up a refrigerator with that bucket, you've got to kind of, somebody's got to tip it forward so you can get the bucket under it. Then they've got to tip it back, and then you've got to hold it, balance it while it comes out, because the bucket's not very big. But the blocks, it gets a little slipper than anything. [39:52] Speaker F (unidentified): Do we want four footers or six footers? [39:55] Bruce Colson: I think four footers would be sufficient, don't you? Yeah. [40:03] Speaker A (unidentified): What's the budget like for that? [40:05] Bruce Colson: I think we have something under the... [40:07] Speaker B (unidentified): No, I just put it all away, but there is room in the line, one of those lines. [Bruce Colson: Capital improvement line?] I don't know, man. [40:30] Speaker F (unidentified): Or equipment maybe? Is there a line for equipment? [40:33] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah, we didn't put much in capital improvement. [40:37] Speaker D (unidentified): Get a crate in the new office and then when you want the view you just put the folks right [40:45] Bruce Colson: Could always get the lazy susan black one so they turn the building yeah so like for turntable over there [40:56] Speaker A (unidentified): Equipment I'm sorry what did you say [40:58] Speaker B (unidentified): A couple thousand dollars [41:00] Speaker H (unidentified): Well then I would say that's a must [41:06] Speaker B (unidentified): Well because it kind of like you said fell through the cracks and throw me under the bus bar because I think I was gonna look into it and we had it all approved two three years ago [41:18] Speaker D (unidentified): Well, do you want to tighten your sins and be the person that goes and finds it? Yeah. [41:26] Speaker B (unidentified): I remember distinctly having a conversation about it and even putting it in the budget at one time. Like a lot of things, it wasn't right in the forefront. [41:41] Bruce Colson: Well, I would entertain a motion to purchase them. [41:45] Speaker A (unidentified): I would second that motion. [41:47] Bruce Colson: I guess I'm the one who made the motion then. [41:50] Speaker B (unidentified): I don't like it, Mr. Chair. [41:51] Bruce Colson: That's okay. That's not a problem. Any further discussion on it? No? Chair? Yes. Cindy? Yes. Alan? Yes. Gordon? Yes. Since I made the motion, I guess I'm the winner. [42:06] Speaker H (unidentified): Sorry, Bruce, that's what I thought. You've [42:23] Bruce Colson: Got to set it forth. It's on board. Maybe. Didn't he just say we said that three years ago? We did so you're talking about the swap shop we can talk about the swap shop [42:35] Speaker G (unidentified): We had our best month [Speaker D (unidentified): So] It was a busy month weather was good never did a good job of policing it but we can do a lot better only because when a contractor comes She comes and picks up a container down underneath, you know, one or two. She's down there undoing the hinges, you know, and doing any clean-ups when the container gets pulled out. It's pretty good usually because we pack it pretty good, but there's times when she's down there, and then her eyes are off the swap shop, her eyes are off upstairs when there might be a pickup truck or another commercial guy coming in. So I kind of have to utilize other people to get up there to help her, you know, especially this summer when we're busy with summer people and more seemed like more garbage, more commercial guys with more garbage, you know, but she does well, doesn't complain, and she kind of takes the swap shop as her baby. And people are supposed to go to her or anybody to see if we want that in our swap shop. But you saw Saturday. [44:07] Speaker B (unidentified): I'd have to work at trying to get as much in there as they can. Granted, they can squish them down a little bit with a tractor, but if they were flat to start with, it certainly would help. [44:20] Bruce Colson: Just a little background information on that recycler, too. Be talking about trash bags, and there is a certain percentage of contaminants you can add within that recycling. I'm sure you probably might be aware of that, but we hold one of the top ratings with EcoMain for our percentage. [44:38] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah. That's pretty good. We were the boaster child. Wow. [44:44] Bruce Colson: So for everything that everybody claims has gone wrong, there's a lot of things that go right here. Yeah. These guys watch it like a pressing game. [44:53] Speaker G (unidentified): John and Dan aren't pickle jars. They take it personal. That's good. John and Dan, they... Who is that guy that just left? Oh, that's good. I guess I'm still up, right? [45:13] Bruce Colson: You're done with the swamp show? Okay. You're moving in a different path. [45:16] Speaker G (unidentified): So the forks would really help when the Freon guy is there taking Freon out of the refrigerators. I can see the forks after they get empty, we have to kind of tilt them onto the tractor now, and that would be a big benefit because we normally have 18 to 24 refrigerators after they get built up [45:42] Bruce Colson: in this case you can just pick the forks up, knock them over onto their side, and slide underneath them, and they're gone. I'm sure a worker's comp would love that much. [46:04] Speaker G (unidentified): So anyway, we wanted to get ready for our e-waste day, so we called Richard from the Freon company, and he came and cleaned out all the Freon so we could move those refrigerators and AC's out of the way in case we needed the room behind the scale, but we didn't have to do that. West from North Coast dropped off pallets and gay lords, 20 each, and we actually did 15 out of the 20, and the only other thing is normally Heather prints out my report, didn't get that for obvious reasons. But the containers were all right on scale, between 12 and 14 tons. There was only one that was down around 10, but every other container was over 12 and 14. [47:04] Speaker D (unidentified): Somebody tell me what a Gaylord is. [47:06] Speaker B (unidentified): A box, a Gaylord, the box. [47:18] Speaker G (unidentified): You can actually fit in there flat-screen TVs maybe almost 10 you put them on their end yeah and that's what we were doing with most of the e-waste so we got some [47:31] Speaker B (unidentified): We have September's Canway, too. What's that? We have September's Canway. Oh, yeah. [47:41] Speaker G (unidentified): What, you have it there? Yeah. Oh, you all got one, and I didn't? [47:46] Bruce Colson: There's no people. So you can read through. [47:49] Speaker G (unidentified): We have containers one, two, three, and four. One and two are up on the hill, and you'll see the container number. That's the tonnage for each container. [48:02] Speaker B (unidentified): So if you so three was a little light on the seven shoes I said there was one and I have no [48:14] Speaker G (unidentified): No idea what we do is on top of the hill we wait for the red light to come on that's a warning to let us know that it's getting full so then we pack it for the driver so that it's pretty clean when he pulls it out of the facility four is a recycling container so that's only what four and a half five and a half yeah that's the first container that comes in and three is down at the foot of the hill there. That's pretty consistent. [49:06] Speaker B (unidentified): Except for on the 17th. No, it's been doing good. 14 is the ideal weight. I'm sure it was over that last time. Yep. I threw an officer trap in the metal can the other day. I threw an officer trap in the metal can the other day since Scott kicked me out. I would have given it to him. He kicked you out? [49:53] Speaker G (unidentified): Did you press it? [49:55] Speaker B (unidentified): No, I took the bricks out of it and run them off. [49:59] Speaker G (unidentified): It's very similar to the cardboard. [50:03] Speaker B (unidentified): Usually I drive the crane on it. [50:12] Speaker G (unidentified): The last thing I guess, I've ordered stickers. Wait for the proofreading information to come back so that we can order those. Heather did say to get an invoice have the guy send her the invoice she didn't want me to use my credit card probably it doesn't take that much yeah [50:34] Speaker F (unidentified): So they had been ordered? What's that? They had been ordered? [50:39] Speaker G (unidentified): Almost I'm waiting to hear back from him so he can send me the proofreading and a quote light green oh you saw the Did I show you the sticker? [50:54] Speaker B (unidentified): I didn't see it. We talked about it the other day. Okay. [51:00] Speaker G (unidentified): Anyway, I asked everybody that works there what they wanted. They're all in agreement. Looks like you can spot it from a distance. Yeah. That's all I have. [51:15] Bruce Colson: Thanks, Dave. Appreciate it. Does anybody have a chance to go over the What did you do before? Not [51:30] Speaker B (unidentified): Completely. Like another minute if you don't mind. [51:34] Bruce Colson: I gave it a five if you'd like. I [52:30] Speaker B (unidentified): lost it. What did you lose? The bookkeeping report in the house. The [52:39] Speaker D (unidentified): top team behind the surgery. [52:43] Speaker B (unidentified): That's the warrant. [53:02] Speaker G (unidentified): That was not in here? [54:09] Speaker B (unidentified): Dave, did you give a key to Scrap Dogs? Did they come ask you for a key yet? No. No? I told them to see you. Oh. They haven't approached me, no. Is that because they want to get there, they won't be able to come? They come in and collect their stuff and do whatever. Well, that's outside of the hour. Yeah. Rose. I believe it's 1530. [56:27] Speaker D (unidentified): It's going up to 1570. So it's not going up. [Speaker B (unidentified): Oh, from 1510.] Oh, okay, so it's going up. Going up 67. There's solid waste reports not completed on this. [57:04] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah. That is Jeff is taking care of that. [57:10] Speaker F (unidentified): He said he's working on it. [57:13] Bruce Colson: He sent that back, he sent it, he went home, that's good to me. [Speaker B (unidentified): Are we] all set with the secretary's report or do we still need time? I'm ready. [Speaker B (unidentified): I'm all set.] Anybody have anything you want to discuss on that? [57:38] Speaker B (unidentified): I did, I did ask Jeff this afternoon when I said I'm a taxist in mind and I'm about looking for an auditor, I [57:54] Speaker D (unidentified): think last time I mentioned that we could talk to the auditors that did the Thomaston, just pass that information along to him. Yeah. [58:46] Bruce Colson: I mean [58:52] Speaker A (unidentified): 9-16, I guess we're only talking about a week, [58:58] Speaker F (unidentified): but there is one back August 11th. [59:00] Bruce Colson: Who would follow up on that? [59:04] Speaker D (unidentified): Heather, if it would be helpful, I wonder if Cara from here, if I could ask her to contact them because there's an existing [59:15] Speaker B (unidentified): customer client, what do you think, see if they'd be willing to take on another? Yeah. [59:26] Speaker D (unidentified): I'll mention it. Ecomaine [59:53] Bruce Colson: might be holding back because we got some questions on the billing. [59:57] Speaker A (unidentified): Oh, so they're not cashing those checks because [1:00:01] Bruce Colson: you remember we discussed that last month, they were given the credit. Yeah. [1:00:07] Speaker F (unidentified): That might be the reason. [1:00:09] Bruce Colson: That doesn't explain Gordon Libby [1:00:11] Speaker G (unidentified): and those [1:00:15] Speaker D (unidentified): two Ecomaines, so Jeff might know or Heather, [1:00:19] Speaker G (unidentified): but they're only [1:00:22] Speaker F (unidentified): there are just two of them are on issue [1:00:24] Speaker A (unidentified): a week ago. [1:00:33] Bruce Colson: Anything else on the bookkeepers report? You [1:00:39] Speaker A (unidentified): said Jeff is working on the annual reports. [1:00:41] Speaker H (unidentified): Who does [1:00:50] Bruce Colson: Heather's evaluation? That's not going to be okay, so we're done with one move off from bookkeepers and one to 13 and we're still on that. Oh, [1:01:05] Speaker B (unidentified): yeah, we can move off that [1:01:06] Speaker A (unidentified): if everybody else wants to. [1:01:10] Bruce Colson: Yeah. All right, I guess we've got the warrant skipped. It's already there. It's already there. Did you take care of it? No. On that, I think I'll just table that next month so you guys have a chance to look at it, review it. Okay. And I'll put it on the attendant for next month. Good. [1:03:26] Speaker A (unidentified): Do we currently have scrap dogs there? Yes. [1:03:29] Bruce Colson: Right, okay. But they haven't renewed a contract in a while, so. Okay. Apparently they're trying to clean up some of the housekeeping. Right, okay. And I haven't read it through and through, but from what I can see in it so far, it hasn't changed. That is all just [1:03:50] Speaker H (unidentified): for ourselves. I don't think that's a positive thing. Everybody says yeah, a lot of people utilize yeah, so they drop off their compost and then scrap dogs further along it goes, take it and then drop off and make sure the pre compals that people can pick up right with their name on it, yeah [1:04:14] Speaker A (unidentified): their dog, their dog, so it's a great idea [1:04:19] Bruce Colson: it also applies to our recycling program for the state [1:04:22] Speaker A (unidentified): for the percentages. Well, that's good. Do [1:04:39] Speaker D (unidentified): we have some kind of account with Midcoast Mess in general [1:04:42] Speaker E (unidentified): or do they just invoice [1:04:46] Bruce Colson: I don't think we've ever used them, so I would say probably not [1:04:50] Speaker E (unidentified): if we put it for the for the piling. [1:05:00] Speaker B (unidentified): I don't even know [1:05:03] Speaker A (unidentified): Kara has a like a Town of Thomaston account that she uses to post on. And is the town I don't know. That would be my guess. [1:05:32] Speaker D (unidentified): Well, that would be something then that if the Town of Thomaston paid, it would get [1:05:38] Speaker H (unidentified): read it was proportion yeah, that'd be hard to figure out, but right, if it [1:05:52] Bruce Colson: works well, we continue to use yeah for other things as well, that's [1:06:01] Speaker D (unidentified): something I should put him in touch with Jeff then, I guess, is right, it's treasure, is that [1:06:05] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah, a [1:06:10] Bruce Colson: whopping four dollars and four cents of interest, whoo. Spend that one, poison. Imagination was this, was these reports larger in the past? [1:06:39] Speaker H (unidentified): That puts awfully small, you're looking at any of my print [1:06:44] Bruce Colson: It must be the new QuickBooks [1:06:47] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah,, she had to change all kinds of stuff over. That's why we didn't get a, that's why we didn't get a budget to actualize done. Finally got it to go. When my mother has to change over that, you're going to hear a small explosion down the spruce head. Probably your windows are going to rattle. Yeah, that price must not be very good. We keep getting a bell. Yeah, [1:07:58] Speaker D (unidentified): why have we got That thick metal, 's going up. [1:08:02] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah, well we get an awful mix. It's not like any of it's clean or anything like that. There's no number one going in there. So we're getting a very small rate, I'm sure, or whatever it is. There have been times where we've gotten money from it. [1:08:33] Bruce Colson: Yeah, but over the years I've seen many go up, but I've seen it go down, and I've seen it go all over the place. Just like cardboard. Sometimes it's worth something, sometimes it's useless. Yeah. [1:08:59] Speaker B (unidentified): I find out for a while and then I have to make a trip over to Union, I guess. First ticket? You know something? Maybe. I don't know. It doesn't have a scale, though. Forget about the Jags. You see that? You go by that once in a while, don't you? There's a Camaro shell out on the edge of the road. [1:09:43] Bruce Colson: They're going by their own when they get down to Port Clyde. Oh, yeah. [1:09:54] Speaker F (unidentified): It looks like net operating income. We brought in $36,000, we only brought in $14,000, so we're to the good by $22,000 it looks like. So that's good. Yeah, [1:10:38] Speaker B (unidentified): this is a lot different, isn't it? This looks, Alan, this looks like a copy of what's already in there. [1:11:31] Speaker D (unidentified): Yeah, I think so. All this domain. All the trucking. [1:12:08] Bruce Colson: Yeah, the trucking contract. [1:12:31] Speaker H (unidentified): Okay. This is what's next. [1:12:35] Bruce Colson: Yep. of course one of his people to go what else after you yeah people to go you need to hang around the board if you like thanks man [1:12:49] Speaker G (unidentified): alright have a good evening see you later [1:13:02] Speaker A (unidentified): these moms they're not going to outlive us all [1:13:06] Bruce Colson: and I might do [1:13:08] Speaker B (unidentified): I'm sorry I'm working on those. [1:13:11] Speaker A (unidentified): Yeah, mine too. [1:13:13] Speaker F (unidentified): My mom's 91. Heather [1:13:31] Speaker B (unidentified): gave me a thumb drive with self-confident written on it. [1:13:38] Bruce Colson: Time of office. That's the directive I gave Heather moving forward. Yeah. [1:13:47] Speaker B (unidentified): And everybody. I gave. All board members in our family. [1:13:53] Speaker F (unidentified): I gave my thumb drive to Patrick so he can make copies. [1:13:58] Bruce Colson: Yeah, Thomas, I believe, has got that. [1:14:00] Speaker F (unidentified): I haven't got my copy back yet. Oh, you haven't? I'm not sure where it is, but Patrick's office. That's Patrick's office. [1:14:10] Bruce Colson: So that was a new directive because apparently the towns weren't aware that this information is available to them at any given time and all they could do is ask their directors for it because this is what you get every month. So I've made a new directive that when she does this, she emails our packet with exception of the minutes because they're not approved, which I've talked to her once again about getting the minutes, approved minutes out there. That hasn't been happening apparently. So I've had another talk with her about that to get that done. But once they're approved, those minutes should come to the TAMS. but in face of that the packet you just got with the financials right the report to the secretary all that should be going to the town and I would assume to the administrator it was super care our administrator your minutes self honest administrator whatever but so that the talents actually have a coffee right so [1:15:08] Speaker A (unidentified): I believe she forwarded them to us today or yesterday the minutes the [1:15:14] Speaker D (unidentified): I'm sorry, the last packet. [1:15:19] Speaker B (unidentified): Heather didn't. She's supposed to. No, yesterday she didn't. [1:15:24] Bruce Colson: No, not yesterday. But that was the new directive that way. They had it. They could look at it when you give them time. The same thing with the thumb drive. Most everything, not everything, especially that's in that book, is on that thumb drive. So, again, they should be able to come to you guys as the directors and get that information. But that's just one more staff. They've got at their disposal. They've got it in their office. They should be able to pull it out and get what they need. [Speaker G (unidentified): Okay. So, you] only get one place to hide it, man. It's [1:16:15] Speaker B (unidentified): the responsibility of the next person down the line to check it. [1:16:18] Speaker A (unidentified): Right, to catch it. That used to be Zell. [1:16:23] Bruce Colson: I know Zell. She wants to catch it. [1:16:38] Speaker D (unidentified): Karen has said the whole multi-factor part of that. Except [1:19:34] Bruce Colson: for sign one. And the second one. Please Jeff. Yes. Alan? Yeah. Good. Yeah. [1:19:53] Speaker D (unidentified): Alright, correspondence. Alan, I believe you said you had some. I had some and it was to me a select board member at Thomaston rather than to this committee, but I'll air it and it was just concerns from certain people about the well-being of our, and raising questions concerning its violence. and so on financially and I don't feel [1:20:27] Speaker E (unidentified): it's anything I can address [1:20:28] Speaker D (unidentified): until I've really spoken with either Heather or Jeff or both of them so I'd like to table any further discussion on that until that conversation takes place if that's agreeable Jeff [1:20:50] Speaker B (unidentified): kind of hoping he might wander in [1:20:52] Bruce Colson: about now Yeah, but I don't know what his schedule really is. I mean, what better time it is to catch him than we can give him his number and set it up with Jeff. [1:21:06] Speaker B (unidentified): Hopefully he wants to have it set down on him. Yeah. You [1:21:11] Bruce Colson: know, Heather's probably out of the question for at least a month. Right. At least. [1:21:19] Speaker F (unidentified): Right. We have had a zero increase in the budget in three years. [1:21:25] Speaker B (unidentified): We knew. Yeah. We knew, but figured it was doable. Yeah. [1:21:32] Bruce Colson: I know one of the questions surely is they don't feel we have a big enough contingency fund. We are aware of that, but we can't fix it at this point because the budget has been submitted. But we are painfully aware that we can utilize that money to pay those bills. So those who are concerned, I'm not sure they're fully aware of how we function and what we have on hand. Or maybe they're just inexperienced and panicking. I don't know. Up, but we do have a handle on this. If, and I don't want to be honest with you, but what if something catastrophic happens? Well, okay, what if it does? It would be the first time it's ever happened to us, and we've had to go back to the towns and ask for rightful money. Is that not her? I know a lot of municipalities like five apartments and stuff have come back, something happened and had to call for more money. We've never done it, but if we, if that should happen, it would be the very first time. [1:22:29] Speaker B (unidentified): Remember when we first came on this board, how tight things were? [1:22:34] Bruce Colson: Very tight. And I do not like running about that. [1:22:37] Speaker B (unidentified): It's not bad right now, but it's been worse. [1:22:42] Speaker F (unidentified): Isn't that revenue from services we provide considerable though? Revenue coming in? To some degree. I think we're good. [1:22:55] Speaker B (unidentified): So it is something for consideration in the future. It's obviously not going to work through this cycle, but the sooner we start selling stickers, the sooner we start getting a little more money coming in there too. [Bruce Colson: So we'll] discuss that shortly. [1:23:29] Bruce Colson: You have the documents in front of you, just like all the other representatives before you had those documents. There's the profit, losses, and the whole lines are set right there. I mean, we can tell you what the game plan is, we can tell you this or that or the other thing, but the information is right there before you. Again, your previous representatives had that same information year in, year out, and they also had input to the budget and stuff. [1:23:58] Speaker F (unidentified): And the budget's going to have to increase next year. [1:24:01] Bruce Colson: There's no doubt about it. I mean, our budget committees always happen. And that's the other thing, the other towns don't realize you guys only answer to one budget committee. You've only got one group of taxpayers you have to answer to. This board has three. We have three budget committees. We have three select boards we have to answer to. Three different taxpayer bases from the different towns we have to answer to. This is a very complex position. I've talked to a couple of selectmen in the past and I've said I don't want your job. You guys got a rock they look at me says no you got it right you guys I'm [1:24:35] Speaker A (unidentified): realizing that I'm realizing that in one piece very intricate it is a lot of [1:24:40] Bruce Colson: people come in here thinking this is an easy peasy job track comes in trash goes out every board member to set here at any time is ultimately good it took him [1:24:50] Speaker B (unidentified): a good year yeah I believe that to get to get easily before I had any kind of a [1:24:57] Speaker H (unidentified): handle on what was going on. There's been quite a turnover from Thomaston. I've been on it for four years and there have been like four to three times she's been blending out. [1:25:06] Speaker B (unidentified): Well, Zoe was here for a long time. Yeah, she was here for a long time. But Jonathan was here a long time. [1:25:12] Speaker F (unidentified): Ron got done when I was here. [1:25:15] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah, but Ron was here for a long time. Ron was here for a long time. [1:25:19] Bruce Colson: And then Peter was here forever. He was here for a very long time. [1:25:23] Speaker F (unidentified): and I noticed I looked back to the select board agendas for Thomas and there's been no discussion on filling some positions that were void and there was like no discussion you look and there's no action taken so and some of those positions were open for two or three months and nothing was done by Thomas to fill a position and we still have two committee members that we'd like to hear from Thomas for the [1:25:56] Speaker A (unidentified): subcommittees for Borgways that's right [1:25:59] Speaker D (unidentified): I was thinking on that so alright let's play without a talk next time if that's alright [1:26:16] Speaker E (unidentified): and in the meantime [Speaker D (unidentified): I mean] one thing I [1:26:22] Speaker D (unidentified): kind of thought was that But I guess only one of us can talk to Jeff before. [1:26:40] Bruce Colson: That's another complication. It's hard. It is hard. It makes it hard. And believe me, there are people that will call you on the carpet for that. Even if you've got good intentions, they will call you. Absolutely. [1:26:51] Speaker B (unidentified): Especially now that everything is cool. Yes. [1:26:56] Speaker D (unidentified): So, all right. Let's table that and we'll come back to you. Okay. [1:27:01] Bruce Colson: But like I said, in the meantime, all those papers are there. the thumb drive should help you a lot the chips in there as well [1:27:09] Speaker A (unidentified): right, I know, but it's you know [1:27:13] Speaker B (unidentified): yep, that's true [1:27:15] Speaker E (unidentified): with the amount of bandwidth I have [1:27:18] Speaker B (unidentified): if you wear another hat [1:27:19] Bruce Colson: when somebody comes up to you and says we're hiding something, we're trying to hide something we're not trying to hide something, there's a lot to it we give you the information every month it's there sometimes it's not the speed they wanted it, that's the problem [1:27:33] Speaker F (unidentified): And you had the board working on updating the thumb drive, so it wasn't immediately available, but you were working on updating it. [1:27:41] Speaker B (unidentified): I mean, originally only the offices had, it's not that we only had access to that information. We were the only ones that had it in that accumulated pile. I mean, it was all, information was all there, available. But then moved out to the old board and now all passed. [1:28:05] Speaker D (unidentified): I'm sure at this point maybe one of the things you're going to discuss is whether anybody needs to come in the interim while Heather's out. [1:28:17] Speaker B (unidentified): Well, she's got that pretty well covered actually. [1:28:20] Bruce Colson: Should we wait for that to press out? Yeah. I do have one more correspondence though. So, if you're done, if you have nothing more, do you have anything? No. Do you have anything? No. Okay, so we do still have the request from Patrick for a date to meet. Oh, right. So, I think, let me look at the calendar here. I've got one in October. I've just got to figure out what the date is. [1:28:46] Speaker G (unidentified): October the 8th. Does that work? [1:28:50] Bruce Colson: It's on Thursday night. I'm trying to keep it on Thursday night, because that seems to be good with everybody. Okay. It's [1:29:01] Speaker D (unidentified): an MMA conference that I'm supposed to be at. Would it be at some, would it be, okay, it would be at what time of day? [1:29:11] Bruce Colson: That's open, I guess. I can move it ahead or backwards or. [1:29:14] Speaker D (unidentified): If it was end of day. [1:29:16] Bruce Colson: It would be the end of day. It would be no earlier than six, unless you wanted to go to six. [1:29:20] Speaker D (unidentified): No,, I mean, that would work for me. That would work for me. [1:29:25] Speaker A (unidentified): Six or after. Yes. On a Thursday night. On a Thursday night. [1:29:29] Bruce Colson: I think we might have it, folks. October 8th, 6 p.m. here, I presume. Or it could be more in the room, it doesn't matter. It's going to be an executive session. [1:29:42] Speaker F (unidentified): Now, before we discussed just the chair and the co-chair being present, are all the board present now? [1:29:48] Bruce Colson: Apparently. Okay. I don't know what became of that. Okay. So, you know, there was three dates, I guess, put out there, and they were supposed to get back to me on what it was, and I heard nothing, so I don't know what became of it. This came out, I assume, in lieu of that or in place of that. We'll find out. Anybody else got any more correspondence? [1:30:27] Speaker F (unidentified): No? Do we know if these rooms are available that day? [1:30:32] Bruce Colson: You know, Patrick might just do it in his office. I don't know. [1:30:36] Speaker B (unidentified): Ask the Thomaston selectmen. [1:30:39] Speaker H (unidentified): Yeah, we should know. Wow. [1:30:43] Speaker E (unidentified): Don't keep track of the numbers. [1:30:46] Bruce Colson: That's what it's a request for, right? The ones we have trouble keeping. Not you, maybe, but the rest of us are. [1:31:00] Speaker B (unidentified): I have trouble getting our select board room, too, There's a calendar, there's a hierarchy, there's a pecking order. [1:31:10] Bruce Colson: That's my answer. Okay, you are up. [1:31:18] Speaker B (unidentified): There's no committee. I would like to move to go into executive session. [1:31:26] Bruce Colson: To discuss personnel issues or matters? Discuss personnel matters. What does that come under, Jeff? [1:31:31] Speaker F (unidentified): I'm looking it up right now. [1:31:34] Speaker B (unidentified): He's got it right over there. I should be able to quote it, but I can't. [1:31:36] Speaker A (unidentified): See? One of those things. I know. [1:31:39] Bruce Colson: I'm going to get that cheat sheet one of these days. [1:31:47] Speaker E (unidentified): There's nothing on the, incidentally, on the Thomaston calendar for Thursday the 8th. [1:31:54] Speaker B (unidentified): Not yet. There's all around it, but the 8th looks clear. [1:31:59] Speaker D (unidentified): So, let's see if we can get that. [1:32:30] Speaker B (unidentified): He's like me, or somebody else we all know and love. [1:32:37] Bruce Colson: You mean if you used to carry satchels? Yeah. Bean bags. Oh! Right [1:32:47] Speaker F (unidentified): here. But I did take it out and look at it while I was talking to you about it and here's a copy. So a microphone won't let me in the copying machine. [1:33:12] Speaker B (unidentified): we have to declare it before we go into it we've [1:33:22] Bruce Colson: stated the purpose and the reason [1:33:24] Speaker B (unidentified): should we just wing it I think so nobody's perfect I think he's going to come up with it in a minute. All right. Cindy's on the right track. Personal [1:33:45] Speaker A (unidentified): issues is 4056A. Provision of the main freedom of access. That's what she says. [1:34:03] Speaker F (unidentified): That's right. it's gotta be long yeah we thought I'd be better making a sudden to from two people from I'll say yeah we have one from cushion Jean I'm like James right now so that would make it to seven right so do we need to make a motion to do that to increase our [1:34:23] Speaker B (unidentified): committee is does it to the Bible say that it can be up to [1:34:28] Bruce Colson: seven already there's no real written bylaws that would be a policy thing that [1:34:37] Speaker F (unidentified): amongst the committee or does that have to be looked at well it's actually the [1:34:41] Bruce Colson: tower division so it's under the direction of my board yeah I don't have [1:34:45] Speaker F (unidentified): an issue with it I mean I think it's so we're still looking for two members from Thomaston but I think we've got another one from Alcid but we'll settle [1:34:55] Bruce Colson: That looks like one, he didn't even get that. It's one. It's one? [1:34:58] Speaker F (unidentified): He said, we prefer two, but we'll take one. [1:35:01] Speaker B (unidentified): Can't sell any committees. South Thoms is always on the select board agenda, there's always committees. Right. There's always a letter going out. Right. Open positions, open positions. [1:35:13] Speaker D (unidentified): Okay, we'll, we'll... Put the word out. Put the word out, yep. Great. [1:35:24] Bruce Colson: Anybody else have anything? -. I do not. I will take a motion to adjourn, if anything. I did it again. How do I do that? Good. All righty, folks. Not too bad to an hour or so. The group's made a motion. One hour and a half. We did.
